It was a top six finalist in the 2009 William Faulkner William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition, and a semi-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Candi graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in psychology. She lives in coastal Southern California where she surfs with her husband. They have two teenagers who play volleyball, and they enjoy traveling the country to watch them compete. Candi currently has three dogs and two cats, but over the years she's had more dogs and cats, a rabbit, a dove, a couple chameleons, several guinea pigs, and a chicken.
